Egypt has always been a fascinating place to visit. Home to the last of the Seven Wonders of the World, Cairo draws visitors from around the world every year to view and experience the power and grandeur that are the pyramids. Join Coddiwomple Travel for the Pyramids Half Marathon and you will have the adventure and run of a lifetime.

Upon arrival into Cairo, you will clear Passport Control, Customs and head to Baggage Claim. While it is advised that you secure your Tourist Visa prior to departure (recommended 7-10 prior), you can secure your Tourist Visa upon arrival. For your added comfort, upon arrival at the airport, an airport representative will greet you in the tunnel and escort you through the customs and immigration process. The representative will facilitate the visa process for you. Continue to the baggage claim hall and passenger pick up. It is a short ride to the Four Seasons at the First Residences. Once checked in, the balance of the afternoon is your to relax. This evening, we will meet for our trip briefing and welcome reception.

After breakfast today we will find our way to the most iconic image of Egyptology,  the Pyramids of Giza. We will have the opportunity to Khufu Pyramid and visit the Sarcophagus Room. We will next enjoy the experience of a 20 minute camel ride. We will enjoy a delicious lunch before we make our final stops at the Sphinx and finally at Saqqara (Step Pyramid). Dinner is on your own this evening. (B,L)  

After breakfast we will make our way to the GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum). Here you will find the finest collection of Egyptian artifacts. We will have lunch here today. In the afternoon, we will make our way to the Race Expo at the Mall of Arabia. After the race briefing and race kit collection, you will have time to explore the mall for any last minute gear that you may have forgotten. This evening, we will enjoy a pre-race dinner back at the hotel (B,L,D)

We will begin our day with a box breakfast. Departure for the race is early. You will have ample time to utilize their assigned kit bag drop as well as use the bathroom facilities before the start of the race. With a three (3) time limit for all events (21K, 10K, and 5K) we will have two transfers back to the hotel after the race. Dinner is on your own tonight. (B).

Today we will make a morning visit to the NMEC (National Museum of Egyptian Civilization). It is here that you will the well preserved mummies, some dating back more than 3500 years. We will follow this up with a visit the Citadel of Saladin and Mohamed Ali Mosque. We will enjoy a local lunch before we head back to the hotel. This evening, we will enjoy a sumptuous buffet followed by belly dancing, whirling dervishes and more aboard a Nile River dinner cruise.   (B,L,D)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home (B)

OR, for those joining the optional Nile River cruise, your flight onward to Luxor. We will embark on the Nile River aboard the M/V Sonesta Sun. Today includes visits to the Temple of Karnak, as well as an evening visit to the Temple of Luxor. (B,L,D).

This morning you have the choice of sleeping late and grabbing a leisurely breakfast, or you may opt to rise early and experience the sun rise from 3000'. This morning, we offer an optional hot air balloon ride that will bring you 3000' above the Nile River and Valley of the Kings (See Pricing for details). If you opt for the hot air balloon ride, you will still have time to grab breakfast back aboard the ship before we continue our touring for the day. Today, we will visit the Valley of the Kings, where we will visit the tombs of Seti I, King Tut's Tomb, and more. We will then visit Hatsheput Temple and Colossi of Memnom before heading back to the ship. This evening, we will enjoy dinner aboard the ship. (B,L,D)

Today, we will make visits to Edfu Temple as well as Kom Ombo Temple. Back on the ship, we will enjoy some local dancing. (B,L,D)

We will enjoy the sites of Philae Temple as well as the High Dam in Aswan. (B,L,D)

After breakfast this morning, we will disembark from the cruise and make our way back to the airport for our flight back to Cairo. We will check in at the Waldorf Astoria Cairo for our final evening. (B)

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer back to the airport for your flight home (B)
