June 22, 2027Arrival into Santiago

Upon arrival into Santiago, Chile (SCL), meet your local guide for a private transfer to the Renaissance Santiago. Although check in is 3:00pm, feel free to check your luggage with the bellman and explore the city on your own. For those that want to explore the city until the room is ready, join us for the optional city tour (Extra cost).

Tonight, we will gather for a welcome reception and trip briefing.

Day 2 - June 23 WED

June 23, 2027 Day Tour to Valparaiso and Vina del Mar

After breakfast, we will depart for a tour of the port city of Valparaiso, a World Heritage Site. With its captivating architecture, narrow streets, steep funiculars, colorful houses, and multiple viewpoints, you will see why this is such a wonderful stop. We will then continue to Vina del Mar, known as the Garden City where you can grab lunch at one of the many local restaurants to try some fresh seviche (lunch is not included). We have one more stop before we head back today. Our final stop will be for a wine tasting in the Casablanca Wine Valley. We will drive deep into the valley to visit Casas del Bosque Winery, where we will be taken to the production areas, have time to stroll around the winery grounds and taste a range of fine wines. Afterwards, we will return to Santiago. (B)

June 24, 2027 Leisure Day - Optional Cooking Class

After breakfast today, you have the option to explore on your own or experience a local cooking class. (Extra cost) Your experience includes transportation, a tour through the central market before you head to the kitchen at Restaurant El Galeon, where you will learn and prepare for your lunch. The menu is heavy on local fish. Example: Learn how to make ceviche. Lunch will conclude around 1:30PM and you will be transferred back to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. (B)

June 25, 2027 - Fly to Easter Island

 After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your flight from Santiago to Easter Island. Upon arrival, you will receive a warm welcome at the airport and then be transferred to Hotel Nayara Hangaroa. Enjoy a leisurely activity at your own pace for the rest of the day. Join us this evening for a welcome drink and snacks. (B)


THIS IS DAY ONE OF THE VOLCANO MARATHON - EASTER ISLAND EDITION. You should arrange your flight to Easter Island for today. The airport code for Rapa Nui is IPC.

 Start your day with a delightful breakfast before embarking on a journey to Orongo, Rano Raraku, and Ahu Tongarik (three quintessential archeological sites on the island) Immerse yourself in the fascinating history, culture, and nature of this beautiful island. You are encouraged to eat a hearty breakfast and bring a snack and water bottle for the tour. In the evening, join us for a pre-race pasta party and briefing in preparation for the marathon, half marathon & 10K the following day. (B,D)

June 27, 2027 - RACE DAY!!!

Start the day with an early breakfast, followed by a bus ride to the starting point fo all races in Anakena, and enjoy the scenic marathon route alongside giant statues and the beautiful coastline. Transportation from the 10K mark will be provided for those in the 10K. The 10K is a water stop/aid station for the half marathon and marathon. Half marathoners will retrace the route back to the start line at Akena Beach. Marathoners will continue and conclude their run at the finish line set up at the hotel. Enjoy a post-race dinner to celebrate with fellow runners in the evening. Three categories are available: Full Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K. (B,D)


There is a four (4) hour time limit for the half marathon. There is a (7) hour time limit for the marathon. There is a (2) hour time limit for the 10K.

After breakfast, feel free to explore the island on your own. There are various fun activities available, including horseback riding, snorkeling, diving, and stargazing. Anyone interested in skydiving? (B)

June 29, 2027 - Flight from Easter Island

Enjoy breakfast and then prepare for departure. We'll arrange for your transfer to the airport for your flight back to Santiago. Upon arrival back into Santiago, you will either connect to your onward journey home, or transfer to your hotel in Santiago. (B)


Due the expected late arrival from Easter Island back into Santiago, you may consider confirming accommodations at the Holiday Inn Airport Santiago Hotel. Accommodations for this evening are not included in the Four Night Easter Island package, but they are included as a component of the Santiago Pre-Trip.


Are you travelling onward to Machu Picchu? We will spend the evening at the Holiday Inn Airport Santiago before flying to Cusco tomorrow.

June 30, 2027 Travel to Cusco, Peru

For those not joining the extension to Machu Picchu, you will be flying home or onward to your next destination. Safe travels.


Commencement of the Machu Picchu Extension: We will have an early breakfast before departing for the airport for our flight from Santiago to Cusco (Peru). A short, but spectacular flight over snowcapped Andes ti the oldest inhabited city in the hemisphere, at an altitude of 11,440".


Upon arrival, a host will meet and assist you in transferring to the hotel and registration. (B)

July 1, 2027 Cusco - Half Day Tour

After breakfast this morning, we will enjoy a half day tour of Cusco and nearby ruins.  A delightful combination of Inca and colonial architecture, you will enjoy the ancient capital city of the Incas. The tour visits important landmarks such as Cusco's Cathedral, Santo Domingo Church, Plaza de Armas and Koricancha, "The Temple of the Sun". This tour of the oldest continuously city on the western hemisphere also includes the nearby ruins of Kenko, Puca-Pucara, Tambomachay, as well as the Sacsayhuaman fortress, an imposing example of the Inca military architecture.

July 2 - Vistadome Train to Machu Picchu

After breakfast, we will depart for Machu Picchu. You can leave your main luggage at the hotel. You need only clothing for the next two days. (Max 11 pounds). It is a slow two hour ride along the PanAmerican Highway to Ollantaytambo. It is here that we will board the 90 minute Vistadome train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Caliente), the gateway to Machu Picchu. We will head to Machu Picchu for viewing on the Citadel before we check in at our hotel, Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel. Tonight, we will have dinner in the restaurant. (B,D)

It is recommended to pack snacks today as well as a water bottle.

Leisure Day to Explore

After breakfast, you have the option to relax and leisurely explore the town of Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Caliente) OR you can take the opportunity to explore further the different circuits of Machu Picchu. Today is a terrific chance to hike up Huayna Picchu and Circuit 3 for a different view of the ruins. Space is limited. Advance reservations need to be secured for Huanya Picchu. Refer to the "Add Ons" section to RSVP your spot. Dinner is included this evening at the hotel. (B,D)

Vistadome Train back to Cusco

After breakfast this morning, we will make our way back to Cusco via the Vistadome train and PanAmerican Highway. It can be a long day so bring a snack and water bottle. We will check back into the Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel for the evening. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to do last minute shopping and dining. (B)

Depart Cusco for Lima

Grab an early breakfast and check out of the hotel. Today, we head for Lima. A short 90 minute flight will find you in the capital city of Peru, Lima. Known as a top, international foodie destination, you may want to try many of the local dishes such as ceviche or lomo saltado.

We will check into the Intercontinental Real Lima Miraflores, located in the heart of Miraflores, our hotel is the ideal location to discover the vibrant essence of Lima. (B)

Exploring Lima

You should feel refreshed after a good night of sleep at a lower altitude. After breakfast, we will set off for a half day city tour of Lima. You will have the remainder of the day to explore Lima further on your own. Join Gringo Tuesdays in Lima for a language exchange, salsa class, and international party. Practice languages, learn salsa, and enjoy a night of fun with people from around the world (additional cost applies). (B)

Farewell - Safe Travels!

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading out to the airport for your flight home or onward. Your driver will collect you three hours before your scheduled flight time.
