Run under the midnight sun of Greenland with glittering glaciers in your backdrop!

This magical run takes place in Illulissat, Greenland, during summer when the sun never sets. The race route will take you through the colorful town of Ilulissat, and winds its way to the UNESCO-accredited Icefjord. 

It's a true trail run over rocky terrain and past dramaturgic icebergs that glitter under the nocturnal sunlight. 

Entry to the run is in combination with a package, offering flights to and from Denmark, accommodation with a stunning view overlooking Disko Bay, selected meals and guided tours of our favorite places in Ilulissat.

Albatros Adventure Marathon is the race organizer, an adventure racing agency specializing in unique adventure races in challenging destinations around the world, based in Denmark, with a passion for running, they are a world leader in crafting some of the world's most exciting races.

We will greet you with big smiles at Copenhagen Airport, Term. 2, for our afternoon flight to Greenland. 

Flight Departure is at 9:45AM.

After a 4.5 hour flight, we land in Kangerlussuaq at 17:40 (GMT-3), from where we jump on a domestic flight to our final destination of Ilulissat! 

Upon arrival, we will check into our hotels and head out for a special walking tour in the evening sun. Starting at Hotel Hvide Falk, your guide will take you around our favorite spots in Ilulissat, sharing fascinating stories about the town's history, culture and Arctic way of life.

Important: Since Air Greenland doesn't partner with other airlines, you'll need to collect your luggage from previous flight, clear customs and check in again. We strongly recommend arriving in Copenhagen at least a day early if you're not landing that morning. We can arrange a pre-night for you in Copenhagen.

Your first full day in Ilulissat! Get ready to take in the surrounding beauty. 

After breakfast at your hotel, you can kickstart your exploration by joining one of our morning excursion options: Kayak Among Icebergs, Eqi Glacier Express, or Oqaatsut Settlement. 

*Note: You can only choose to do one of the excursions in the morning. As there won't be enough time to get back from one and start another. 

If you are not joining the excursions, feel free to explore Ilulissat on your own. 

In the evening, there is an option to join an evening excursion of Kayak Among Icebergs.  (B)

After breakfast, we will start the day with a scenic hike through the stunning UNESCO-listed Sermermiut Valley. The route will take us past ancient Inuit ruins and towards the Nakkaavik ("the place to fall") cliff, with breathtaking views of the Ilulissat Icefjord and its towering icebergs. 

In the afternoon and evening, you'll have the chance to explore the Icefjord up close on a boat tour. Our small 12-person boats offer an unforgettable view over its massive icebergs, glittering under the evening sun. Trips are available before and after dinner.  

In the evening, we will gather for a cozy pasta dinner and the Race Briefing, where you will meet our team and ask any last-minute questions. Craving even more adventure? Jump on an evening kayak excursion around the Icefjord!

The night we've all been waiting for! 

Today you will have the morning and afternoon to sleep, explore, and prepare yourself for the big race night. 

We offer the following excursions in the morning: Kayak Among Icebergs and Meet the Sled Dogs. 

*Note: You can only choose to do one of the excursions in the morning. As there won't be enough time to get back from one and start another. 

The rest of the day is all yours to relax and prepare yourself for an epic race night. 

Icefjord Midnight Marathon: 

21:00: Marathon Starts

22:30: Half Marathon Starts

04:00: Expected ending of the race. 

Family and friends can cheer by the starting line at the Zion Church, and by the finish line at Hotel Hvide Falk. The more the merrier!

Today is all about relaxation and recovery. Most of you will want to sleep the morning away after a long and tough night, but for those who crave more exploration, you can choose from our selection of excursions: Eqi Glacier Express, Oqaatsut Settlement, or Kayak Among Icebergs. 

*Note: You can only choose to do one of the excursions in the morning. As there won't be enough time to get back from one and start another. 

In the evening, all participants will gather in Hotel Hvide Falk for a Celebration Dinner. We will revel in the prior night's victory, share stories, and enjoy a delicious local meal together. (B,D)

Sadly it's time to say goodbye to Ilulissat. 

After breakfast, we will check out of our hotels and transfer to the airport. For those who purchased a flight with us, we will be boarding the flight from Ilulissat back to Copenhagen. The flight departs at 1:15PM. The expected arrival time in Copenhagen is 9:00PM.

Guests are responsible for their own flights home from Copenhagen. Keep in mind that you will need time to collect your bags and check in to your next flight; thus, we don't recommend booking flights within three hours of arrival in Copenhagen. Due to swift weather changes in Greenland, flight delays can be expected. (B,L)
